What happens in an Assessment?

Once you have paid the fee, our admin team will be in touch to arrange a suitable time and date for your Occupational Therapy Assessment.

You will receive some Questionnaires in the post to fill in and return to your Therapist together with any other reports you have received in the past. These will be treated confidentially. Please return in good time before the assessment date.

Your therapist will make contact with you prior to the Assessment date.

The assessment will last 2.5 – 3 hours. You may bring a family member or friend if you wish to do so.

Observation of movement, and Standardised tests will be used in a relaxed friendly atmosphere. We aim to use the most appropriate, well researched, and up to date assessment tools available.

There will be time for questions and discussion.

The first draft of the introduction will be sent to you for checking and then the finished report will be sent to you by email, a hard copy will be sent at your request. Email copies can also be sent to others at your request.

If you would like to discuss the report, we offer a 30 minute feedback session, included in the Assessment fee, with your Occupational Therapist. The follow up session can be arranged with your Occupational Therapist once you have received the report.

If on-going coaching, phone support, or other services are required you can discuss this with your Occupational Therapist.

A feedback form will be sent via email by Dyspraxia UK after you have received the report. Please complete it as we value your feedback – it helps us continually improve our service.

How to book an Assessment

Wendy was very friendly and easy to talk to during the assessment. She made me feel at ease during each test and listened to what I had to say.
